High-Vibe Morning Routine

Aloha!

I’ve been working on creating a morning routine that sets a high vibration for the rest of the day. It’s taken quite some time to figure out what works best for me and stay consistent with it. I wanted to share some of my favourite morning activities that I aim to get in daily before actually starting my day. I hope you can take bits and pieces of it – or the whole thing – to help you build a high-vibe morning routine that works best for you.

The first thing I like to do, before even opening my eyes, is mentally state 3 things that I’m grateful for.
The purpose of this practice is to raise my vibration with gratitude before awakening my senses and being stimulated by the physical world. The best way I can explain why I do this is using the weather as an example: Imagine, you open your eyes and the first thing you see in the morning is that it’s shitty weather outside… how would you feel? Probably as shitty as the weather – and that’s just the first thing to complain about. If weather doesn’t really affect you that much, let’s use this example: You wake up, open your eyes, check your phone and see you’ve received a bunch of awful or annoying messages… how would you feel? Most likely, upset or annoyed. So, to prevent and combat a day of feeling shitty and complaining, or maybe even to just equip you with the mindset to deal with awfulness and annoyances, I feel it’s best to keep your eyes closed in that first minute or so right when you begin to wake up and state in your mind what you’re grateful for. I believe that this first minute of gratitude really makes the biggest difference in how you react and respond to the circumstances you face throughout the rest of the day.
P.S. This is also good for those days you really want to stay in bed but have to get your day moving – you may have heard of the trick of counting down from 5 and when it hits 1, you get up. Well, instead, you can get up on your 3rd gratitude!

The next thing I do, is sit in meditation while listening to this Abraham Hicks rampage.
Some days, if I have a bit of extra time to sit still in bed, I also listen to this rampage for money mindset.

While I sit in meditation, I like to practice soft belly breathing.
Soft belly breathing can reduce tension in the neck and shoulders, massage the heart, and activate the parasympathetic nervous system (responsible for rest and digest) through the phrenic nerve that runs down both sides of the diaphragm.
TO PRACTICE: Sit cross-legged in bed with hands on belly (I like to place one hand on my heart chakra and my other hand on my solar plexus – right above the navel). Allow the belly to expand on each inhale and contract on each exhale. It may help to envision a wave: as the belly expands on the inhale – the wave rises; as the belly contracts on the exhale – the wave returns to the ocean. As the expansion and contraction becomes more natural, focus on keeping a rhythmic breathing pattern, where the inhale and exhale are equal.

Next, I like to go through this journalling exercise to get into an abundant heart space, knowing that I have everything I need and everything that I desire is on its way to me. I really enjoy holding the emotions and excitement that each sentence brings, as well as visualizing how all of my desires would look.
Usually, I also repeat affirmations that I’ve written in my journal or new moon/full moon intentions. If you’re new to affirmations and want some outside inspiration (I highly suggest eventually searching within for affirmations), these are some of my faves:
+ Affirmations for a great day (I just really enjoy the accent – makes repeating them super fun & playful)
+ Self-confidence, health, wealth, abundance, happiness & love
+ Morning gratitude positive affirmations
+ 42 morning affirmations
+ Divine Feminine affirmations

After I get my head and heart in a good space, I feel ready to get out of my sanctuary (a.k.a. my bed lol). So, I’ll make my way to the kitchen to wash my face with 6.0pH water and fill my glass gallon bottle with some fresh 9.5pH Kangen Water. Then, I proceed to take my supplements: vitamin B12, prebiotic, probiotics, and iron. Other holistic supplements I take (usually in a smoothie or oatmeal for breakfast) are triphala, milk thistle, maca, medicinal mushrooms, Irish sea moss, and this natural multi-vitamin blend. Occasionally (when I feel a cold coming or someone around me is sick), I’ll take black seed oil and a stress relief blend.
In case you’re wondering, I get most of my supplements from this online store.

I like to get some sort of movement going in the morning – whether that’s by dancing/jumping around in my room to my fave songs or doing a yoga flow (10-30 mins usually) or going for a nature walk. Basically, I just like to get rid of any stagnant energy in my body and boost my endorphins – it feels so good, always. #noragrets

The very last thing I do – which marks the end of my morning routine and beginning of my work day – is check notifications and answer any messages/emails I need to answer. I think it’s so important to have some down time to yourself first thing in the morning before allowing other people’s opinions/emotions/energy infiltrate your feel-good vibes.

75 HARD

BASIC RULES:

  1. Follow a diet of your choice (i.e. plant-based, gluten-free, refined sugar-free, etc.) – whatever you decide, there’s no cheat meals.
  2. Work out twice a day for at least 45 mins each time – one workout has to be outside no matter the weather.
  3. Drink a gallon of water.
  4. Read 10 pages of a personal development book – no audiobooks.
  5. Take a progress picture every day.

If you cheat or miss a rule, it’s back to day 1.

Why am I doing this challenge?

I’m a pretty easygoing person. I enjoy flowing with life. Going wherever the wind takes me. And I don’t like being or feeling restricted.
So, why would I put myself through 75 days of hardcore discipline?
As I wrote in my journal as part of my July New Moon intentions, “I choose discipline because it is outside my comfort zone.”
I am putting myself through this discomfort for discipline because I know it will ultimately lead to growth. And that makes everything worthwhile for me.

How do I feel so far?

So far, so amazing. I’m just over a week into it and I’ve noticed lots of positive changes not only in my body, but in my mental health and energy levels.
Most days, I actually look forward to working out twice a day. I look forward to reading. I look forward to noticing an increase in my mental and physical strength.

Will I make it to 75?

Yup, that’s the goal. I know that if I fuck up, it’s back to day 1. So, it’s about staying consistent with a healthy routine and setting myself up for success. It’s about remembering my ‘why.’

Would I recommend this challenge?

Yes. To everyone. This is a great way to kick off a self-development journey.
I believe that this challenge is a healthy way or medium to reset the body on all levels of being.

Tips to make it more bearable?

Start early.
And I don’t mean that as in start today. But start drinking your gallon early in the day. Aim to get a morning workout in. Try to squeeze in 5 pages of your chosen book in the morning.
Just set yourself up for success. Plan your day so that you’re not stressing to fit everything in right before bed – especially that gallon of water.

MANIFEST YOUR DREAM LIFE

There’s 6 months left till 2020…

What would you do if you had no financial limitations?
How different would your life look?
What do you want to manifest for yourself?

Let’s get to work and make it happen – just grab a pen and a journal!

I like to do a journal exercise at the beginning of the year and again at mid-year as a refresher. It’s also a manifestation exercise and it’s always amazing reflecting mid-year at the first entry and seeing how things have unfolded in my life that only started as a thought.

If you know anything about the Law of Attraction, you’ll vibe.
If you’re new to this, don’t worry. I’ll explain and make it as simple as possible to follow.

The Universal Law of Attraction is based on the principle that your thoughts have the power to create your reality. This is great if you’re a positive thinker and love dreaming big. However, for the most part, people tend to have a decent amount of limiting beliefs. These are beliefs that hold you back from achieving the life you desire due to conditioning from our parents, society, etc. and often go something along the lines of “I could never make that much money” or “I can’t be as successful as this person” or “if I don’t accomplish my goal, I’ll be a failure.” Bullshit, right? Right. Guess what?! You’re not a failure if you tried one method and it didn’t work out; you’re a failure if you never tried in the first place.

So, ask yourself:

What limiting beliefs do I hold?
How are these beliefs holding me back from living my dream life?
How amazing would my life be if I no longer held onto these beliefs?
What would I do if I knew I was capable of getting the outcome I desired, every single time?
How would my everyday life look knowing I have this power?

I’ll let you in on a secret: The Universe/God/Source wants you to live the life of your dreams because it’s meant for you and no one has the power to take that away from you – except for yourself.

Oh, and here’s another secret: If you can think of it, it already exists and is available to you. It’s only a matter of being open and able to receive it.

So, are you open and able to receive the life of your dreams?

Ready to learn this life-changing manifestation journalling exercise?

Here’s how you do it:

At the top of the page, write down “WHAT I WANT TO MANIFEST…”

Then, break it down into sections.

  1. HEALTH (physical/mental; nutrition/exercise)
  2. ENVIRONMENT (community/location/surroundings)
  3. CAREER (location/hours; is it fulfilling work/how does it make you feel)
  4. RELATIONSHIPS (family/friends/partner/self)
  5. HOME (features, details; how do you want it to look? how do you want it to feel?)
  6. MONEY (why?; how much?; what will you use it for?; how does it make you feel?)

When you figure out all these details of the big picture, forget the details of how it will all happen.
Instead, go on to the next page writing at the top “I AM GRATEFUL FOR…” and re-writing everything you just listed *in present tense* (i.e. “I want to manifest a bright, spacious home in the tropics” → “I am grateful for a bright, spacious home in the tropics”).

Lastly, re-read this list as many times as you want with no expectations of any outcomes – only trust in the Universe and your manifestation powers.

Personally, I aim to read this list 4-5 times a week and really feel into the emotions of already having these things. This is key when it comes to manifestation and law of attraction practices: acting “as if” it is already yours. Another key trick is visualization. Visualize yourself eating the foods you want, being in the environment you love, working your dream job, in healthy relationships, in your beautiful home, with money constantly flowing into your bank account. When you visualize, it’s easier to stimulate the emotional side of it because it feels way more real – kind of like when you have a really good dream and wake up feeling like a million bucks, even if it was just a dream.

TIP: Start your day by mentally stating 3 things you’re genuinely grateful for before starting this practice. This helps raise your vibration and attract more to be grateful for.

An amazing thing about this practice is that you only have to put in a decent chunk of time when you’re first getting clear on what you want and writing it down. Other than that, it’s smooth sailing. You can easily incorporate it into your morning or night time routine and watch as your life becomes what you desire and visualize it to be.

Hope you found this useful and your dream life becomes your reality!

All my love,

Patty xx

LESSONS FROM HAWAI’I

Just a quick little background on this:

I’ve always felt suuuuuper drawn to the North Shore of O’ahu for no actual reason. For years, I would tell my family and friends that I’d live in Hawai’i one day; that it felt like it could be home for me (without even visiting yet); that there was no way I was staying in Toronto for the rest of my life – I needed to get out there and experience life fully.

I visited the island for 2 weeks in January, 2018 and to say I fell in love would be an understatement. Of course, this was just a vacation and I still wanted to know what it’d be like to actually live there. So, in September, 2018, I made my way back to the island with my best friend and we lived our best lives together for a month before she flew back home. That’s when my “real life” started over there.

This is just a snippet of what I learned in the span of 4 months living on O’ahu. My time there was not the easiest, most fun, and relaxed as it may have looked in my photos. I decided to start being more authentic and realistic in my posts when people started messaging me things like “I wish I had your life,” “I wish I could do that,” or “your life is so perfect.”

So, here’s 3 things to understand if you were/are one of those people:

  1. The grass is always greener on the other side
  2. Anyone can do anything they desire – it’s a matter of switching your mindset from “I can’t” to “I can and I will”
  3. My life is nowhere close to perfect and I want to make sure everyone knows that. It is a messy and beautiful roller coaster ride that I could not be more grateful for to experience. It is a never-ending growth and self-development journey that I choose to share with others because I believe we can all learn from one another. That’s all there is to it.

For a large chunk of my time on the island, I didn’t have a lot of money. It had gotten to the point where I had to choose whether to sleep in a hostel another night or eat a decent meal that day… I ate 2 bananas as I booked another night.

Living in Hawai’i isn’t easy – but people do make the best of it there. Mostly everyone works several jobs just to continue the dream of living in paradise. It’s certainly worth it when you finally have a day off; when you can run to the ocean with arms wide open expressing gratitude for the little island that holds your heart dearly. When you see the rainbows stacking on top of one another reminding you there’s still so much beauty in the world, even when you feel all the shitty feels. When you can reunite with beautiful souls you’ve been blessed to meet on the island through divine synchronicity. When you see everyone around you smiling because they also feel the beautiful high-vibe energy the islands have to offer.

It was definitely worth it for me… till a certain point.

I knew when my time there was over; and it had nothing to do with material needs. It was a deep fulfillment of my soul. I knew I had learned all I needed to learn, lost all I needed to lose, gained all I needed to gain, and felt all I needed to feel. It was time to come “home”, because I had already come home to myself.

So, without further ado…

Here’s a compilation of Instagram posts from my time in Hawai’i:

3 REALIZATIONS

One of the biggest things I’ve had to overcome this past year has been fear.

Fear of:
-change
-the unknown
-being uncomfortable
-not being good/smart/creative enough
-not having enough
-not making enough
-not doing enough

You get the gist of it. We all have these kinds of fears that paralyze us from changing and attaining the life of our dreams. I’d like to bring 3 points to your attention in this blog post and I hope that by the time you finish reading, you can break free from this fear paralysis and feel empowered to take charge of your life.

So, let’s dive right into these.

thumbnail_image1 (2)

Realization #1: A mindset of fear and scarcity is your biggest enemy when it comes to manifesting your dream life.

The first thing I’d like for you to realize here is that fear and scarcity both vibe at low frequencies. So, staying in these low frequencies will only attract more of the same – more fear, less good shit in your life. If you want more of the good shit, start vibrating at the frequency of all that you desire. What you focus on, grows.

Personally, I’ve had to come to terms with this more recently when I decided to make a large investment in my health and business, while already drowning in student debt. I’ve known for years now that I didn’t want to work a regular job. I wanted to start my own business and be free to do as I please. I didn’t care too much for stability in my life and preferred working 3 part-time jobs at a time if it meant I could travel more often for months at a time. However, I realized that this way of thinking was stemming from a place of fear and scarcity. I was afraid that I wouldn’t succeed in my business and I wouldn’t make enough money to even pay my bills – let alone travel. I was afraid that if I gave up these jobs or even any shifts, I’d be stuck trying to make that money back doing something else that I didn’t enjoy. I didn’t necessarily hate my jobs, but I definitely wasn’t in love with what I was doing. I decided that this fear wasn’t serving me; that it wasn’t attracting any of the opportunities I so badly wanted to attract. I decided that being in a state of scarcity also wasn’t serving me; that I couldn’t attract financial abundance and freedom if I kept thinking there wasn’t enough to go around for everyone – which brings me to my next point.

Realization #2: Everything you need and want is already available, but you have to be open to receiving it.

The Universe provides an infinite flow of abundance and infinite possibilities. But until you decide that you are ready to welcome all that you desire into your life, the Universe will keep providing you with what you keep accepting. In other words, if you keep accepting your current life and reality, the Universe will step back from giving you anything other than that (a.k.a. anything better than what you already have). If you keep believing that you’ll never find a better job, better partner, better friends, better food, better water, and a better life, the Universe will only agree with you on this. Imagine arguing with someone so stubborn and stuck in their ways that they refuse to hear what you have to say… well, in this case, you’d be that stubborn person and the Universe is sick of listening to your same bullshit.

Visualize the life you want without worrying too much about the details of how you’ll get there. See the destination. Trust that it’s a real place and you can get to it. Trust in the Divine. And most importantly, receive gracefully. Demonstrate gratitude for what you already have and all that you are being provided with. Whatever you desire is making its way to you right now.

Realization #3: The way your life unfolds is, for the most part, up to you.

You can choose to change your thought patterns at any moment. You can choose to start healing through traumas today. You can choose love over fear, gratitude over complaining, abundance over scarcity. You can choose kinder words for yourself, kinder actions towards others, kinder living for the earth. You get to decide how to respond to all that is happening for you – not to you.

I once read a quote that said “Experience is determined by yourself – not the circumstances of your life.” This has stuck with me for three years now. I determine how I want to feel at the end of the day. I determine who I want to be at the end of the day. I determine how I want to show up in my life. No person, job, or whatever other potential obstacle determines how my life unfolds. I do.

Here are some affirmations you may find helpful to shift your mindset and life into a higher frequency:

  • I am abundant.
  • I am whole.
  • I am healing.
  • I am grateful for all that I have, all that I am, and all that is.
  • I am aligned with the energy of abundance.
  • I give myself permission to release what no longer serves me.
  • I have the power to manifest and work hard for what I want.
  • Everything I’ve ever needed has always been inside of me.
  • Nothing and no one can stop me from achieving what I came here to do.
  • I am mentally, physically, and emotionally capable of achieving anything.
  • I am tapping into my higher power.
  • Amazing opportunities are constantly arising.
  • Abundance flows to me in endless waves.
  • I am taking advantage of what the Universe provides me with.
  • I am ready to receive all blessings.

Feel free to choose as little or as many that resonate with you and repeat them daily.
